Christmas Bucket List Activities to Do As a Couple
1. Listen to Christmas music together
As you start to decorate your house or wrap your Christmas presents with your significant other, a great date idea would be to listen to Christmas music together.
You can find already made Christmas themed playlists on Spotify, or you and your partner can create y’alls own playlist with all of your favorite Christmas songs on it!
Listening to Christmas music while doing Christmas activities or just dancing around the house really helps to make it feel like Christmas is finally here.
2. Go Christmas tree shopping
To start your Christmas season, you have to get a Christmas tree!
This should be one of the first activities you add to your Christmas bucket list.
Whether you get a real tree, a fake tree or you just want a mini Christmas tree, that is all up to you and what your preference is!
3. Hang ornaments on your Christmas tree
Once you and your significant other have bought your Christmas tree, then it is time to start decorating it!
This is such a great holiday activity to do together because it is such a simple date idea, but it is also a very fun one to do together.
You two can decide together what color ornaments you want to use and whether or not you want to add beads or garland to your tree.
4. Hang up both of your Christmas stockings
You can get matching stockings for you and your significant other, or if you want the both of you to have your own unique stocking, then you can also do that too.
5. Plan Christmas gifts you want to buy and go shopping together
Around Black Friday or during the first week or so of December, you are going to want to start planning what Christmas gifts you both want to get for all of your families and friends.
You should also discuss with each other whether or not you are buying gifts separately for everyone or buying them together.
Then you want to plan when and where you can go to get these Christmas gifts.
6. Play in the snow and go sledding together
If you live in an area that gets snow, then you definitely have to have a snowball fight and also go sledding or tubing down a hill of snow!
But if you live in a warmer climate, there are places that set up fake snow where you can still have a super fun time playing in the snow and tubing down a hill of snow.
7. Have a Christmas themed breakfast together
A great date idea to add to your Christmas bucket list is to have a Christmas themed breakfast together.
Whether that is a breakfast you both cook together or one you go out and buy is up to you!
You can get creative with this breakfast date by either making homemade Christmas pancakes or a Christmas donut tree, or you can go out and get Christmas pancakes from IHop or Christmas donuts from Dunkin Donuts.
8. Have a Christmas movie marathon while snuggling up on the couch
One Christmas date idea you need to do with your partner is to have a Christmas movie marathon.
Grab some blankets, matching pajamas, and a cup of hot chocolate, and spend the entire day binge watching all of your favorite Christmas movies!
9. Go ice skating together
Another fun holiday activity you should add to your Christmas bucket list to do with your significant other is to go ice skating.
Ice skating is such a great date idea because you have each other to lean on the entire time that you are skating.
And even though it is such a fun activity to do, be prepared to fall (or almost fall) many times.
But just remember to laugh it off because everyone else is struggling just as much if not more!
10. Make and bake Christmas recipes together
Throughout the month of December, it is always fun to make Christmas treats for you and your loved ones.
Together you can make festive cookies, charcuterie boards, warm dinners for extremely cold nights, or holiday inspired drinks!
11. Have an ugly sweater contest with each other
This would be a fun date idea to do with each other, or if you have a group of friends who are in relationships, that would also be fun to do as well.
Everyone would just come up with their version of an ugly sweater, and then you would have a contest to see who made the ugliest Christmas sweater.
12. Donate Christmas toys to a toy drive together
Before Christmas comes and you get to enjoy all of the gifts you are going to receive from each other, it is always great to give back to your community first.
Go out and purchase a toy to give to the toy drive so that you can possibly make a kids’ day who initially wasn’t going to receive a gift on Christmas Day.
13. Build a snowman together
If you live in an area that gets snow, then you definitely have to build a snowman together!
14. Go and see The Nutcracker ballet live
The Nutcracker is such a classic ballet to watch, you have to go and see it around the holiday season!
It also helps to really put you in the Christmas spirit!
15. Go out and buy matching Christmas pajamas together
You have to be that couple who has matching cheesy couple’s Christmas pajamas.
I know it is very cheesy, but it is also such a cute thing to do as a couple.
16. Have a bonfire and make s’mores
With the cold season approaching, it is the best time to have a bonfire and make s’mores!
Being snuggled up by a bonfire while making s’mores would be such a romantic and easy date idea to do on a cold winter night.
17. Bake Christmas cookies together
You can go and purchase the Christmas cookies that have already been cut and have a cute Christmas snowman or Christmas tree decorated on top of the cookies, and all you do is pop them in the oven and enjoy.
Or you could get plain sugar cookie dough and buy the frosting and sprinkles to make your own Christmas cookies to enjoy together.
18. Read Christmas books together
A great relaxing self-care activity to do with your significant other is to snuggle under a warm blanket and read.
But to make it more festive, you can buy romantic Christmas books to read, or you could also find mystery Christmas books depending on which genre you and your partner prefer the most.
19. Take a Christmas photo
You always should take a cute couple’s Christmas photo around the Christmas season.
Whether the photo is taken after you two decorated the Christmas tree or it was taken on Christmas day, as long as you have one photo to remember that Christmas season.
Trust me, you will appreciate it in the future when you go to look back at the photos of you two.
You can also use the photo you took of each other for your Christmas cards to send out to both of your families and friends.
20. Make DIY Christmas crafts together
A FUN date night activity you and your partner can do together is make and decorate Christmas crafts together.
You could both color in a Christmas themed coloring book, buy unpainted wooden Christmas decorations that you and your partner can paint yourselves, or make DIY ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree.
21. Kiss under the mistletoe
You and your partner have to kiss under the mistletoe, it is a must for couples during the Christmas season!
22. Drive around the neighborhood and go see Christmas lights
This would be such a fun date idea one cold Christmas night when you do not know what else to do.
You can go to a place that sets up Christmas lights that you can pay to walk through or drive through, or you can just hop in your vehicle and drive around your neighborhood to view the Christmas lights people have set up themselves.
All you have to do is stay in your warm car listening to Christmas music while driving around your neighborhood to see all of the Christmas lights everyone has set up.
23. Make a gingerbread house or have a gingerbread house contest
You could do this the weekend before Christmas or on Christmas Eve (so that it is still fresh enough to eat on Christmas).
Most grocery stores sell gingerbread house kits that have all the items you need to help make the house.
But if like me, you struggle with keeping the gingerbread house standing, then you can buy a plain gingerbread house that has already been built.
Which means there is no icing or candy on it, it is just the house already put together.
The great thing about this option is it is way easier to deal with, and all you have to do is decorate the house.
Then you and your partner could decorate the gingerbread house together, or you could get two gingerbread houses and have a competition to see who makes the best one!
24. Wrap Christmas presents while listening to Christmas music
Whether you wrap your gifts as you buy them or you wait and wrap them all at once, I definitely recommend doing it while you jam to Christmas music, because it just makes it so much better!
Merry Christmas!!!
