Wedding Guest List Helper: How to Easily Decide Who You Should Invite to Your Wedding

Congratulationssss on becoming engaged!! Now it is time to start planning your wedding day!

Planning your big day can become very stressful with all the decisions you are going to have to make.

However, you need to look no further because I will provide you with all the help you need on planning your wedding day!

One of the biggest questions that you might be asking yourself right now is who should I even invite to my wedding?

This can be tricky because you want to invite everyone close to you but you also don’t want to go overboard especially if you have a wedding budget.

Now keep in mind this is your and your fiance’s wedding, so if you can’t stand your mom’s uncle’s daughter’s child, guess what you do not have to invite them at all.

In the end, this is your big day, so make sure that you invite whoever YOU want.

Do not invite people that you know are going to ruin your wedding day.

If you are having trouble deciding whether you should invite someone or not, then down below you will find multiple questions that are going to help you decide if they should receive a wedding invite or not!

How to Decide on Your Wedding Guest List

How Do You Know This Person?

The first question you need to consider is how do you even know this person.

Are they part of your family, are they a friend or did you meet them through work?

Have You Talked to This Person in the Past Year?

Unless you were planning on having a big wedding, you might not want to invite every single person that you know.

The next question you need to ask yourself is have I even really communicated with this person within the last couple of years?

Because there is no point in you inviting your friend from high school whom you have not spoken to in over a decade to your wedding.

Like I mentioned earlier if you wanted a big wedding you definitely can invite everybody that you know, but if you are on a budget keeping the guest list number down will definitely help reduce the overall cost of your wedding.

Do Your Parents Insist This Person Come?

If this person is a part of your family or you know them through your family but you are conflicted on whether or not to invite them then ask your parents.

However, do keep in mind that this is your wedding and that it is your decision.

So if you have bad blood with cousin Jerry and you do not want them to cause a scene on your big day, don’t invite them.

Have You Ever Spent Time Together Outside of Work?

Most of the time the closest friends that you have are people whom you have met through work.

If this person is super close with you, y’all talk all the time and you sometimes spend time together outside of work then you should invite them.

But if you are just two coworkers that occasionally talk at work but never hang together outside of work then you might want to cross them off of the guest list.

Has Your Fiance Ever Met This Person?

This is a big question, especially for your group of friends and work friends.

Now your fiance might not have personally met every single one of your friends, however, if you have never really mentioned this person to your fiance then there is no point in inviting them to your wedding.

Because your fiance is your best friend. They are the person you go to every day to tell them how your day went.

They are the person who hears all of the drama and gossip that happens at work or within your friend group.

So the best person to go to for advice on whether you should invite a family member, friend, or coworker, would definitely be your fiance.

Can You Imagine Your Wedding Day Without Them?

This is the last question that you should ask yourself.

Once you have gone through all of the other questions and you are still on the fence about inviting this person, ask yourself if you can truly picture your wedding with or without this person.

If you can picture your wedding day without them then I would not recommend inviting them.

However, if you know that this person is a very positive and happy person and knows how to get down and party then you definitely should invite them.

In the end, invite people who are going to help to make your wedding the most memorable day of your life.
