15 Relaxing Self Care Activities
If you want to see more self care ideas or wedding planning tips, then on my TikTok and Pinterest there are many more ideas to help inspire you!
1. Take Some Time and Have a Spa Day or a Spa Night
There is nothing more relaxing than a hot bubble bath, a great book, your favorite drink, a face mask, and the sound of peace and quiet!
Try to take a couple of hours at night when everyone else is in bed to give yourself a well deserved spa night.
Even if you don’t have time for a couple of hours, just taking around 30 minutes to breath and relax can really make a difference on clearing your mind.
2. Start a New Book You’ve Been Wanting to Read for a Long Time
If you have a book sitting on your desk or on your bookshelf that you have been dying to read but have not made the time to start it, this is your sign to go grab that book and finally begin reading it!
3. Go Get a Mani or Pedi or Do One Yourself
I don’t know about you, but when my nails are done, I just feel tremendously better.
It is one of the easiest ways to make you feel more feminine, especially during times when you don’t.
If you don’t want to spend the money every couple of weeks to get your nails done at a salon then learn to do your nails at home!
I use to go to the salon every 2 to 3 weeks to keep my nails up, but thanks to TikTok, I have now learned how to easily do my nails from home.
Also, in the long run, it saves you a ton of money when you do your own nails.
4. Go on a nice walk outside in your neighborhood or at a park
Exercising and being outdoors have both been proven to release happy hormones throughout your body and help to boost your overall mood!
5. Listen to a Motivational or Funny Podcast
I love starting my mornings with a motivational podcast or a podcast that helps me to focus on myself and feel better about myself.
I am always looking for new podcasts to start, so what are some of your favorite podcasts that you are currently addicted to?
6. Try a New Yoga or Pilates Session
The great thing about yoga is that you can spend about 10 to 15 minutes doing yoga, and you will already feel so much better, and after a long week of work, sometimes we all need a good stretch!
7. Declutter Your Room or the Main Area of Your House
There is no greater feeling than a clean and organized room.
If you feel that you have been very anxious lately, start by cleaning and decluttering your room and see if that helps you!
8. Spend a Couple of Hours Outside
One of the best natural remedies, when you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, is sunshine.
If you only have a couple of minutes to spare, just step outside and breathe in that warm fresh air.
You can also take your phone and wedding planner with you outside, because I have learned that I work better under sunlight!
9. Spend the Day at Your Favorite Spot or Go to Your Favorite Restaurant
Treat yourself and go to your favorite spot or go out to eat at your favorite restaurant.
You deserve it!
10. Have a No Social Media Day
Social media can really affect people mentally, so take the day away from it and see how much of a difference it makes!
If you can’t go the entire day, try not to look at social media right when you wake up or right before you go to sleep.
11. Schedule a Hangout with a Friend
Call up that friend that always has you laughing and always puts you in a great mood!
12. Learn to Meditate to Help Clear Your Mind
A great self care idea that you can do to help calm your mind and release all of your worries is by taking 5 to 10 minutes each morning to meditate!
13. Cook Yourself and Your Family a Nice Home Cooked Meal
Whether it is your favorite meal or your favorite batch of chocolate chip cookies, take a little time to make it for yourself!
14. Take the Day to Relax and Either Color, Draw, Sew, or Paint
Another great way to relax is by doing activities and stuff (not related to work or wedding planning) that you love to do in your free time.
Coloring has been proven to help reduce stress levels, and it is one of my favorite ways to destress and relax my mind.
15. Have a Movie Day or Binge Watch a New TV Show
If you are feeling exhausted and want to have a lazy day, do it.
Take that afternoon and just relax on the couch with your favorite blanket and watch a movie or tv show that you have been wanting to watch for a while!
